Official Rules and Legal Mumbo Jumbo for the Kan Kong Karakter Kontest

1.  All entries must be easy to draw.

2.  A description of the character is not required,
but it'll certainly get you brownie points.

3.  Send a sketch (or bio) of your character to
     sergeant_bomar@juno.com. All entries must be
received by midnight on Wednesday, January
     31st, 2001.

4.  Entries will be judged by a committe consisting
of Dan Frioli.  Criteria will include but not be
limited to drawability, comic potential, and
     originality.

5.  First prize will consist of piece of original,
hand-drawn Kan Kong artwork (note that these
rules have an extremely loose definition of the
word "artwork"), as well as at least three
appearances in the comic by the character.

6.  Legal stuff:
All entries are considered derivative works of
"The Crudely Drawn Adventures of Kan Kong"
but remain the intellectual properties of their
creators.  The winning creator agrees to allow
Dan Frioli to use his or her character as he
sees fit within the context of the comic strip.  All
other use of the character is at the creator's
     discretion.

7.  English translation of legal stuff:
If you win, I can use your character any way I
want within the confines of the strip.  Outside
the strip, it's yours and yours alone.

Winner will be announced on Friday, February 2nd, 2001.  Check back here for winning and runner-up entries.

We're not expecting a whole lot of entries, so we're basically defining "runner-up" as "someone who actually bothered to enter."  Just so you know.
